ACA Declared Unconstitutional By Texas Federal Judge

Over the weekend, a major court ruling began to worry people across the nation regarding their healthcare coverage via Obamacare.

I was only able to use CNN and FOX as sources today as BBC didn't have an article about the topic. As CNN and FOX were a bit more general regarding our incoming senator's involvement with the case since they were covering it at a national level, I also used KOMU in place of point 2 for CNN's column.

The links to the articles are as follows:

The four points we'll be covering today include the following:

  1. A federal judge struck down Obamacare as unconstitutional.

  2. The case was lead by several state attorney generals including Josh Hawley of Missouri.

  3. The case has been appealed to higher courts.

  4. The President’s reaction via Twitter.

The first point and the headline catcher is the basis and simple fact in the heart of this story. A federal judge out of Texas ruled the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional.

The case was headed up by several attorney generals across the states and was a talking point for our Missouri senate election, as Josh Hawley was heavily involved in the process. CNN didn't really specify who was leading the operation, and neither gave specific names.

As one would suspect, the case has been appealed. Law experts imagine this will end up back at the supreme court.

The president, as per usual, took to Twitter to express his happiness over the results of the case.

Keep up with this story as it heads to the appeals courts and the supreme court.
