Cohen Again

Yet again, Micheal Cohen, Trump's now not so loyal "fixer" has been stirring up headlines and disrupting the news cycle. This isn't the first time he has caused problems for Trump through means of plea-deals, but this time is particularly poorly timed, as the president is currently at the G-20 summit with eyes on him in an international sphere.

We'll be covering three new main points along with reviewing a teensy bit regarding Cohen's past. We'll be looking at the points that follow:

  1. Who is Cohen? background?

  2. Cohen unexpectedly showed in court to plea guilty to lying to congress.

  3. He lied out of loyalty and to ensure the protection of Trump.

  4. Cohen has cooperated with Muller(the head of the investigation) and will continue to.

As per usual, our sources are from articles from CNN, BBC, and FOX and links to them are below:

If you didn't already know, you can tell from the headlines that Michael Cohen was a ex-lawyer of president Trump. He previously made news when he pleaded guilty to 8 different charges earlier in the year.

Next we look at the plea that has just hit the tabloids. The court appearance was a surprise to everyone, although some would argue that the content of the appearance was not.

This next point is more important than you'd probably assume at first. Cohen went on to elaborate on the fact that the reason he lied was to protect "individual 1", aka: Trump.

While Cohen is famously quoted as once saying he would take a bullet for Trump, Trump has backlashed towards Cohen, saying he is weak in response to Cohen's cooperation with the Russia probe.

This topic consistently changes and every time it does it seems to be a huge development. Only a limited amount of the probe is currently public knowledge, but when it is released it is sure to be interesting. Of course, be sure to keep up with it yourself in the following weeks and if you'd like more background, check out our previous post on the matter below
